For 50 years, we have been transforming waste into valuable resources
The circular economy is in our DNA
Every day, we recover and refine precious metals that would otherwise be lost, reducing the environmental impact of mining and ensuring secure and sustainable supply chains for our partners.

Our Commitment to the UN 2030 Agenda
7 objectives, 1 mission: sustainability through the circular economy
Since 1983, we have made the circular economy our raison d’être. Every tonne of precious metals recovered represents not only economic value, but also a concrete contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting a more equitable, prosperous and sustainable future. Faggi Enrico S.p.A. actively contributes to the achievement of seven of these goals through its circular business model.

Strategic partner for security of supply
Europe depends on foreign countries for over 90% of its critical raw materials.
Faggi recovers and recycles these materials, providing European industries with a secure, local and sustainable source.
We reduce geopolitical dependence and build resilience for the continent’s industrial future.
The problem
Europe is heavily dependent on third countries for critical raw materials, which are essential for the green and digital transition. Platinum group metals (PGMs) are among the most critical.
Critical raw materials are mostly sourced outside the EU. The EU will never be self-sufficient, but it aims to diversify its supply.
Currently, for some critical raw materials, the EU depends exclusively on one country:
•Russia and South Africa together produce around 75% of the world’s palladium and 90% of its rhodium.
• South Africa supplies 71% of the European Union’s platinum needs.
Direct effects on sectors
Industrial paralysis
Essential PGMs: Platinum (Pt), Palladium (Pd) and Rhodium (Rh) are irreplaceable components in catalytic converters (catalytic mufflers) required to comply with strict European emissions regulations.
Energy Transition
Platinum is a vital catalyst in hydrogen fuel cells and electrolysers. Platinum is a key catalyst in hydrogen fuel cells and electrolysers, which are vital in the production of green hydrogen.
Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sector
PGMs are essential catalysts for the European pharmaceutical industry. A supply disruption would compromise production security in this and many other sectors.
Faggi, Partner of excellence for highly critical sectors.
Whether it’s precious metals for luxury goods, high-purity critical materials for pharmaceuticals or defence, Faggi Enrico S.p.A. recovers and regenerates metals considered strategic for Europe, ensuring a stable and secure supply.
Thanks to a circular economy model developed entirely in Italy, we offer European industries a short, secure and certified supply chain, strengthening Italian and European industrial self-sufficiency and competitiveness.
